Adpat Counselling & Therapist Mindfulness Counselling

How do I make an appointment?

The first or initial session is an opportunity to decide if we can work together and that I am the right counsellor for you and I can offer the right skills in order to work effectively with you.

You should allow just over an hour for your first appointment.

In this initial session we will look at your expectations of counselling and how difficult you think your problems are. This allows for any misconceptions to surface and be resolved. This will also give you some picture of what may lay ahead in terms of financial commitment.

Change can be quick or slow, so the amount of counselling you need may vary from weeks, months, or even years in some cases.

The minimum of six to eight sessions is advisable in order to assess matters and let the counselling process being to take effect. Counselling is usually offered on a weekly basis, this may then decrease as you improve. Most sessions are an hour long.

You are under no obligation to continue with counselling and if you feel at any stage you do not wish to continue you are free to end the sessions at any time. It is important you have alternate support to help you cope, if you decide to cease counselling at a difficult time it can leave you feeling vulnerable.
